Deputy PM: 42,000 Starlink terminals operate in Ukraine
Ukraine has 42,000 active Starlink satellite Internet terminals.
According to Ukrinform, this was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
“Now there are 42,000 Starlink terminals in Ukraine, which provide communications for power engineers, doctors and the military, everything works stably,” he said in an interview with the agency.
According to Fedorov, the Ukrainian authorities are in constant contact with Elon Musk's SpaceX. The minister stressed that the Ukrainian state "did not spend a penny on the terminals - everything was transferred by international partners, who also pay for their operation, of course, on preferential terms."
At the end of last year, Fedorov reported that since February 2022, Ukraine has received more than 20,000 Starlink terminals from donors and partners. It was pointed out that the maintenance of one terminal costs $2,500 - 4,500 per month.
