Egypt, Pakistan coordinate on US–Iran peace initiative
Egypt is working closely with Pakistan as part of a broader initiative aimed at achieving a long-term peace arrangement between the United States and Iran, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said.
Speaking on Saturday, April 18, Abdelatty noted, as reported by Reuters, that Cairo and Islamabad are engaged in coordinated efforts to support a sustainable diplomatic framework between Washington and Tehran.
He added that Egypt, Türkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia are jointly coordinating wider regional initiatives designed to prevent further escalation and lay the groundwork for a post-war security arrangement.
Abdelatty stressed that these efforts also focus on safeguarding Gulf states and ensuring stability in key global systems, including energy markets, supply chains, and food security.
