The coalition, co-chaired by France and the United Kingdom, brings together leaders from around 30 countries, including European states as well as Türkiye, Australia, and Canada. The summit, held in both in-person and virtual formats, focused on military aid and security assurances designed to deter further Russian aggression.
French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who co-lead the coalition, emphasised that US support would be crucial for the proposed European “reassurance force” in Ukraine.
“Let’s now move forward,” von der Leyen wrote on X, signaling the coalition’s intention to accelerate efforts on the outlined measures.
