Five officers injured in Paris mass group attack
A violent altercation unfolded in the 19th arrondissement of Paris on December 26, as a group of approximately 30 individuals attacked five police officers.
The incident began when officers detained a man for suspicious behaviour, Caliber.Az reports via French media.
The man allegedly resisted arrest and began shouting for help, prompting a mob of around 30 people to confront the officers. The situation quickly escalated into an assault on the police, resulting in injuries to five officers. Fortunately, none of the officers required hospitalisation, though they were treated for their injuries at the scene.
In response to the attack, law enforcement officials used non-lethal force, including traumatic weapons and stun guns, to subdue the assailants. Three individuals involved in the attack were arrested by police, while the others fled the scene.
The exact motives behind the assault remain unclear, and authorities are continuing their investigation. Paris police have confirmed that they are working to identify the remaining attackers.
