Former Israeli intelligence officer: No Iranian equivalent to Delcy Rodríguez
A former officer of the Israeli military intelligence unit and senior researcher on Iran stated that there is “no Iranian equivalent to Delcy Rodríguez.”
He said that since the beginning of the current campaign, the United States government appears to have been seeking an Iranian counterpart to Rodríguez — a figure who, despite being rooted in the system’s structure, could bring about a meaningful policy shift and align with Washington’s expectations, Khabar Fouri reports.
According to him, this perspective is based on the implicit assumption that someone within the Iranian establishment could implement a 180-degree change in policy and move Tehran closer to American terms.
However, he argued that such an assumption is, in all likelihood, nothing more than wishful thinking.
