Former US state secretary slams Biden, Harris for supporting Hamas with ceasefire calls
Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has criticized President Joe Biden and incumbent Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris for calling for an end to the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
Pompeo argued that such rhetoric "feeds" Hamas, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Pompeo claimed that statements made by Harris "fuel the continuation of the war" and "maintain high risks."
He added, "Whenever I hear President Biden or Vice President Harris speak about a ceasefire, what they’re really doing is allowing the horrors of October 7 to potentially repeat."
On July 25, Vice President Harris met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which she stressed the need for a swift ceasefire agreement with the radical Palestinian group Hamas in exchange for the release of Israeli hostages. Harris also expressed significant concern over the high number of civilian casualties in Gaza.
