Four dead, one seriously injured in plane crash in Canada
A small aircraft crashed in northern Manitoba, Canada, on September 13, leaving four people dead and one seriously injured.
The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m., approximately 40 kilometers south of St. Theresa Point First Nation, near Makepeace Lake, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
According to the RCMP in Island Lake, the aircraft had departed from St. Theresa Point First Nation and was en route to Makepeace Lake when the crash took place. Authorities were alerted to the scene and, with the help of helicopter support, immediately began a search and rescue operation.
A team from CFB Trenton in Ontario was also dispatched, sending a specialized aircraft with two crew members to provide medical assistance. Upon arriving at the crash site, RCMP confirmed that the 20-year-old male pilot sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Two male passengers, aged 53 and 49, and two female passengers, both 50 years old, all from St. Theresa Point First Nation, were found deceased at the scene.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has been notified and has deployed an investigative team to the crash site. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, with authorities working to determine the factors that led to the tragedy.
