France says it maintains dialogue with Russia to prevent nuclear holocaust

French government spokesman Olivier Veran has said that France continues to maintain diplomatic channels with Russia to prevent the scenario of a nuclear catastrophe.

Veran noted the importance of maintaining the diplomatic channels of Paris with Moscow.

“France, and Western Europe are extremely vigilant and use all means, including diplomatic ones, to prevent the development of events according to the scenario of a nuclear catastrophe,” the spokesman explained on air at BFMTV TV channel.

He also added that France had previously heard threats from Russia, but it is planned to continue to maintain relations to prevent a nuclear catastrophe.
