Israel targets Hamas operatives, infrastructure in Gaza Strip Video
On August 9, 2025, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), acting on ISA intelligence, struck Khan Yunis in Gaza, killing Nasser Musa, a senior Hamas Rafah Brigade operative.
Musa reportedly oversaw the brigade’s operational readiness and training and was involved in planning attacks against Israeli forces and civilians during the recent conflict, Caliber.Az reports, citing IDF.
He was also known to have held positions in military intelligence and monitoring operations within the brigade. Musa was a close associate of Mohammad Sabaneh, the brigade commander who was killed in May 2025.
Israeli officials say Musa’s elimination is expected to weaken the Rafah Brigade’s operational capabilities. In a separate operation on August 14, the IDF struck a facility in Khan Yunis used to store rockets allegedly intended for attacks on Israel and IDF personnel.
IDF forces continue to conduct operations throughout the Gaza Strip, including dismantling suspected militant structures and targeting armed groups in southern Gaza, according to Israeli sources.

Israel has drawn international condemnation after far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced plans to approve over 3,000 homes in the E1 area of the occupied West Bank, effectively cutting through land earmarked for a future Palestinian state.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric warned that the move “would put an end to prospects of a two-state solution,” while EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas described it as a “breach of international law.”
Meanwhile, the humanitarian toll in Gaza continues to mount. The enclave’s Health Ministry reported four more hunger-related deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of
Palestinians who have starved to death since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza to 239, including 106 children. Israeli forces have also continued attacks across the Strip, killing at least 32 people on August 14, among them 13 aid seekers.
Since the conflict escalated, at least 61,776 Palestinians have been killed and 154,906 wounded, while Israel reports 1,139 fatalities from the October 7, 2023, attacks, with more than 200 people taken captive.
