Hezbollah launches explosive drones at IDF forces in southern Lebanon
Hezbollah launched two explosive drones overnight August 27 toward Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops operating in the Ali al-Taher Ridge area within the security zone in southern Lebanon, the Israeli military stated.
The IDF said its soldiers shot down one of the drones using ground fire, while contact with the second drone was lost. No casualties were reported among Israeli forces.
In response to the attack, Israeli fighter jets struck several locations in southern Lebanon, including the villages of Sarbin, Yater, Al-Mansouri, Zutar and Mifdoun, as well as the Ali al-Taher Ridge, according to the IDF.
The Israeli military said the strikes were carried out in response to Hezbollah’s attempt to target its forces operating in the security zone.
The IDF also warned that it would continue taking action against Hezbollah activity in the area and would not allow the group to operate against Israeli forces within the security zone.
