Gaza’s displaced left to suffer as Israel blocks vital shelter aid, breaching ceasefire promise
Displaced Palestinians in Gaza remain without proper shelter as Israel blocks mobile homes, tents, and heavy machinery, despite the ceasefire and ongoing captive-prisoner exchanges.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refused to authorize aid trucks carrying mobile homes and heavy equipment into the besieged enclave, in apparent violation of the ceasefire agreement, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
The deal stipulates that Israel must allow at least 60,000 temporary homes and 200,000 tents into Gaza within the first 42 days, along with agreed-upon equipment for clearing rubble.
However, Hamas claims that while 20,000 tents have been permitted entry, no mobile homes have crossed the border from Egypt.
With just two weeks remaining until the end of the initial phase, the group has accused Israel of failing to meet its obligations, though it insists it will not let the agreement collapse.
Gaza’s Government Media Office condemned Israel’s refusal to allow essential supplies, describing it as a “clear evasion of its pledges and obligations” under the ceasefire.
“This is an explicit declaration of its failure to the agreement,” the office said in a statement on Telegram, calling on international mediators to intervene and pressure Israel into fulfilling its commitments.
Palestinian groups in Gaza, it added, remain committed to their side of the deal “as long as the occupation is committed” to the agreement.
