Gunfire erupts at US high school reunion, injuring four
On July 12, a class reunion in Chattanooga, Tennessee, turned violent after gunfire erupted, leaving four people injured and prompting a manhunt for the shooter.
According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, police have not yet released a description of the suspect but have assured the public that “there is no ongoing threat,” Caliber,Az reports, citing American media.
The shooting occurred around 3 p.m. local time, causing panic among attendees, including families with children.
Witnesses described the chaos as shots rang out unexpectedly.
“Then, all the sudden, shots just started going everywhere. Little kids and babies and everything were on the ground. It was bad, real bad,” one attendee told reporters.
All four victims were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials confirmed.
Many people reportedly ran for safety, while others dropped to the ground to avoid the gunfire.
The motive of the incident is yet to be disclosed, and the investigation is ongoing.
