Indian PM, President Zelenskyy discuss situation in Ukraine
Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has announced that during his visit to Kyiv, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Jaishankar made these remarks during a briefing, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The majority of their discussions focused on the current situation in Ukraine. Modi shared insights from his recent conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place in Moscow in early July.
“Most of the discussions were indeed focused on the conflict in Ukraine. The prime minister emphasised our stance, which I summarized for you: this is not an era for wars. Dialogue and diplomacy are the key factors. Solutions will not be found on the battlefield. He also shared widely spread views on the impact of this conflict on the Global South,” Jaishankar noted.
“He [Modi] also spoke about his recent conversations with President [Vladimir] Putin in Moscow. As you may recall, the prime minister visited Moscow in July,” the foreign minister noted.
He did not specify the details of the discussions with the Russian president that were shared with President Zelenskyy.
