Trump, Putin and Zelenskyy could meet in Rome, sources say
A trilateral meeting between US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could be held in Rome, according to Sky News, citing a source within European diplomatic circles.
The source indicated that both Trump and Zelenskyy favour Rome as the venue, a preference supported by US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The Russian delegation, however, reportedly continues to favour Geneva as the location for the talks.
Emmanuel Macron is also promoting Geneva as the host city for a trilateral meeting.
Speaking this morning, the French president emphasised that the summit should take place in "a neutral country", suggesting "perhaps Switzerland... or another country".
"I'm advocating Geneva," he stated.
Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani also remarked that Geneva "could be the best venue", adding that "Italy is in favour of it".
