Drone debris emerges in Rezekne region of Latvia
Debris from a drone of unknown origin has been discovered in the Rezekne region of Latvia, the State Police of Latvia announced.
A local resident informed authorities of the find on April 1, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Police, the National Armed Forces, and municipal police responded to the site, which has been cordoned off. The debris poses no threat and is not explosive.
A criminal case has been opened under the article on “Crimes against the State.” The armed forces are analysing airspace control data to determine the circumstances of the incident, but the drone’s origin has not yet been established. Defence Minister Andris Spruds has ordered a full investigation.

This comes amid Ukraine’s strikes on Russian ports in the Baltic, during which armed drones have occasionally crossed the airspace of Baltic countries and Finland.
