Poland detains two suspects over alleged role in Czech factory arson
Polish authorities have detained two individuals on suspicion of inciting and assisting in an arson attack on an arms-related facility in Pardubice, Czech Republic, officials confirmed.
The arrests were carried out on March 24 by Poland’s Internal Security Agency in cooperation with Czech law enforcement. The suspects, aged 22 and 23, are described by investigators as activists supportive of international pro-Palestinian movements, a Polish media outlet reports.
According to preliminary findings, the two may have links to a group calling itself the “Earthquake Faction,” which has claimed responsibility for the fire that broke out on the night of March 20 at a facility associated with LPP Holding.
Both individuals have been placed in pre-trial detention for three months. Authorities have not disclosed whether the suspects have admitted to any involvement, and investigations are ongoing to determine if others in Poland may have been connected to the incident.
Officials in both countries continue to coordinate as part of the cross-border inquiry.
