Dutch far-right leader eyes US success story to revolutionize government accountability
In a move aimed at enhancing governmental accountability, Thierry Baudet, founder and leader of the Dutch far-right political party Forum for Democracy, has advocated for the establishment of a Dutch counterpart to the American agency known as DOGE. This US body, previously overseen by entrepreneur Elon Musk, has been credited with driving significant reforms by exposing inefficiencies and corruption within federal institutions.
Baudet revealed, via a post on the social media platform X, that during a recent visit to Washington, DC, he met with Pete Marocco, a former US State Department official who collaborated closely with DOGE and Musk, Caliber.Az reports.
During my visit to Washington, DC, I spent an evening with @Petermarocco, who worked with @elonmusk and @doge to personally dismantle the corrupt, left-radical USAID network. They discovered and stopped BILLIONS of dollars in fraud, waste, abuse and regime change and closed… pic.twitter.com/hp1h2GYSjY

According to Baudet, this agency played a pivotal role in uncovering multibillion-dollar abuses at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), ultimately contributing to its closure.
Highlighting the potential impact such a body could have in the Netherlands, Baudet asserted, “We should do the same in the Netherlands after the elections on October 29!"
As the October elections approach, Baudet’s campaign for a DOGE-like agency is poised to become a focal point in discussions about the future of public administration and governmental reform in the Netherlands.
