Kyiv plans massive expansion of drone production capacity
Ukraine is set to produce around 10 million drones in 2026, with the capacity to double that figure, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy made the statement while speaking at the Group of Seven (G7) summit, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
“We now need to produce about 10 million unmanned aerial vehicles this year. But we can double this figure. And that is also, I think, good news from our perspective,” Zelenskyy said in an interview following meetings on the sidelines of the summit.
He also said there was “good news” in the Miltech sector, which includes the production of unmanned systems, robotics, software, cybersecurity, electronic warfare systems, and the training of highly qualified engineering personnel.
Zelenskyy added that sanctions against Russia have “started to work,” while stressing that they remain insufficient.
