Germany set to lift direct flight ban to Syria

Germany plans to lift its current ban on direct flights to Syria at the end of July, potentially paving the way for airlines to resume direct air services between the two countries.

Berlin intends to replace the existing prohibition with a non-binding recommendation advising against flights to Syria, a source within the German government told Television Syria. 

If implemented, the move would remove legal restrictions preventing airlines from operating direct routes, while leaving carriers to make their own decisions based on security, operational, and commercial considerations.
