Fatal nighttime blaze in Uzbekistan leaves two dead, several affected VIDEO
A large fire broke out in Uzbekistan’s Fergana region, resulting in two deaths and three injuries, authorities said.
Emergency services received a report of a vehicle fire in the Yozyovon district at 22:16 on June 16 (21:16 Baku time). Fire and rescue units arrived at the scene shortly after and managed to extinguish the blaze in a short time, Caliber.Az reports via Uzbek media.
Preliminary reports indicate that two people died in the incident. Three others with injuries of varying severity were hospitalised.
The fire also destroyed around 60 square meters of an abandoned non-residential building and three vehicles — a Labo, a Hyundai, and a Mercedes-Benz.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage.
