European allies power up Ukraine’s digital defence with €10 million aid

19 August 2025 19:20

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has received a new shipment of military and communications equipment worth €10 million from the IT coalition, financed by Luxembourg, Ireland, Belgium, and Estonia.

The deliveries took place during July and August, the ministry confirmed on August 19, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

The shipment included nearly 7,000 laptops for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), intended for units using the “Obereg” and “Impulse” information and communication systems, as well as the Medical Information System.

It also comprised 318 charging stations, 2,304 communication devices, 442 monitors, data centre equipment, network hardware, and software licences to support the deployment of software-defined networks across the AFU.

In a separate delivery, Latvia contributed 1,000 routers worth over €77,000.

This marks the fourth and fifth deliveries from the IT coalition to Ukraine in 2025. Previous shipments include €3.3 million in January, €7.5 million in February, and around €2 million in April, supplied by Estonia, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

Oksana Ferchuk, Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister for Digitalisation, said the latest delivery would allow the Armed Forces to enhance their digital capabilities.

The IT coalition was established under the “Ramstein” format, which coordinates international military support for Ukraine. Members include Estonia and Luxembourg as lead nations, along with Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Ukraine.
