Iran army spokesman accuses US, Israel of using Iraqi airspace for attacks
Iran has accused the United States and Israel of using Iraqi airspace to carry out attacks against its territory, describing the move as a violation of international regulations.
In an interview with Defapress, Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminiya, spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army, said US and Israel were operating through Iraqi skies despite opposition from the Iraqi government, Caliber.Az reports.
"The American-Zionist enemy, contrary to the opinion of the Iraqi government, is using the country’s airspace to invade Iran, which violates international regulations," he said.
The spokesman also highlighted the role of Iran’s domestically developed drones in recent military operations. He said the army’s indigenous systems, equipped with modern technologies and updated guidance and control mechanisms, had performed effectively in striking enemy positions.
According to Akraminiya, Iranian forces are targeting Israeli military bases with greater ease than before by deploying various types of attack drones. He further claimed that after the destruction of a significant portion of the adversary’s radar capabilities, units of Iran’s Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had been able to conduct strikes with improved accuracy.
He added that Iran’s armed forces would respond proportionately and decisively to any aggression or threat and were fully prepared to continue defending the country.
