Iran backs any Hamas-Israel ceasefire agreement accepted by Palestinians
Iran has expressed its support for any ceasefire or truce agreement between Hamas and Israel that meets the approval of the Palestinian side.
In a recent conversation with Khalil al-Heya, a member of Hamas’s politburo, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed Iran’s backing for any resolution that aligns with the preferences of the Palestinian resistance and Hamas, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will support any agreement on a ceasefire or ending the war in Gaza that is accepted by the Palestinian resistance and Hamas," the diplomat stated.
He emphasized that Iran’s position on the Gaza conflict will remain unchanged, even with the transition to a new government. "Iran will continue to support Palestine as it has in the past," Araghchi added.
During the discussion, Khalil al-Heya extended his congratulations to Araghchi on his appointment as foreign minister and provided updates on the current status of ceasefire negotiations in Gaza. Al-Heya noted, "The Palestinian people highly appreciate the support provided to them by Iran," underscoring the importance of Tehran’s continued backing in the conflict.
