Czech Republic strengthens security around railway stations

Czech police have increased patrols near railway stations amid reports of Russian hybrid threats, Interior Minister Lubomír Metnar has said.

He confirmed that police are currently promptly assessing all incoming information and taking measures, Caliber.Az reports, citing Czech media.

According to him, the increased patrol activity is linked to a rise in the volume of Russian hybrid operations.

A growing number of European countries are warning of the threat of such attacks.

On September 11, France joined them, with President Emmanuel Macron saying they had been threatened by a Russian hybrid attack in recent weeks.

He also announced that he had ordered defences against hybrid attacks, including the introduction of new measures to protect key infrastructure and defence industry facilities in the country.
