Iran, E3 reps set for key meeting before indirect US nuclear talks
Iran has agreed to meet with representatives from the "E3" countries—Germany, the UK, and France—just one day before the start of the highly anticipated indirect negotiations between Iran and the US, set for May 3 in Rome.
A source within Iran’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that France, the UK, and Germany had requested the meeting to take place ahead of the upcoming nuclear discussions between Iran and the US. Tehran has approved the proposal, with the meeting scheduled for May 2, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
The source further confirmed that Iran and the US, with mediation from Oman, have agreed to proceed with the fourth round of indirect nuclear talks on May 3 in Rome.
On April 26, the third round of negotiations between Iran and the US was held in the Omani capital, Muscat, where it became clear that the two sides remain divided on several key issues.
The primary point of contention is uranium enrichment. While speaking during a press pool at Morristown Airport, US President Donald Trump noted that he was "almost entirely confident" that his administration would be able to reach a deal with Tehran.
