Israel closes diplomatic missions worldwide amid security concerns
Israel’s Foreign Ministry has announced the closure of all Israeli diplomatic missions abroad. Consular services have also been suspended until further notice.
The ministry has urged Israeli citizens currently overseas to report their location and status through an online form, Caliber.Az reports.
A similar system was previously implemented after the October 7 Hamas attack to coordinate the return of reservists and organise emergency flights.
The decision comes amid growing concerns over potential retaliatory attacks on Israeli interests and individuals abroad. In a public advisory, the Foreign Ministry urged Israelis to exercise heightened caution, refrain from sharing geolocation or travel plans on social media, and avoid displaying Jewish or Israeli symbols in public.
Citizens were also advised to stay away from large gatherings or events associated with Israel or Jewish communities. The ministry emphasised the need for Israelis overseas to remain in close contact with local authorities and to follow the instructions of security services, particularly in the event of suspicious activity or incidents.
