Israel kills Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon

On October 22, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported that they had targeted and killed Issa Ahmad Karbala, identified as a platoon commander of Hezbollah’s Radwan force, in the area of Ain Qana, southern Lebanon.

According to the IDF, Karbala was involved in the transfer of weapons within Lebanon and in planning attacks against Israel.

The Israeli military said these activities violated understandings in place between Israel and Lebanon.

Moreover, the IDF stated it will continue operations to address what it describes as threats to the State of Israel.
