Ukraine hit by fresh Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, says Zelenskyy
Ukraine has been subjected to another wave of Russian attacks overnight, with strikes targeting both civilian areas and key energy infrastructure, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian air defence forces, mobile artillery units, and drone interception teams were active throughout the night and morning in response to the assaults, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
While many of the strikes focused on energy facilities, residential areas were also hit.
Fires were reported in Zaporizhzhia, and residential buildings sustained damage in Kyiv. Other affected regions include Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, and Sumy.
At least 17 people have been injured. Six fatalities have been confirmed, including two children. President Zelenskyy offered his condolences to the families of those killed.
