A Pakistani naval vessel, operating as part of the international Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), intercepted two sailing vessels in the Arabian Sea carrying a massive shipment of drugs valued at over $972 million, AFP reported. The operation lasted for more than 48 hours.
Authorities seized several tons of methamphetamine along with a smaller quantity of cocaine. The ships involved were identified as having no registered nationality.
The CMF is a coalition of 29 countries, headquartered in Bahrain, with its operations coordinated by the U.S. Navy’s Central Command, also based in Bahrain.
