Russian drone strike on Kyiv leaves two dead, sparks multiple fires
On the morning of October 22, Russian forces launched another drone attack on Kyiv, sparking fires and resulting in casualties, according to statements by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
“Starting from 5 a.m., the enemy carried out a massive drone strike on the capital. The consequences have been recorded in at least four districts — Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, and Pecherskyi. Medical teams were called to the first three,” Tkachenko said, per RBC-Ukraine.
In Darnytskyi District, fires broke out in a residential high-rise and a non-residential building. Mayor Klitschko added that drone debris fell on an unfinished structure in the same area.
“The death toll in the capital has risen to two. My condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims,” Tkachenko said.
