Israel-Iran ceasefire holds if both sides adhere, Israeli official says
An Israeli official tells the Walla news site that a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, announced earlier by US President Donald Trump, will remain in effect “if both sides uphold it.”
“Trump announced a ceasefire. If all sides uphold it, it will hold,” the unnamed official says, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
Israel officially confirmed its agreement to the US proposal for a bilateral ceasefire, warning that it will “respond forcefully” to any violations.
“The Prime Minister’s Office says in a statement that the premier met with the cabinet, the defence minister, the IDF chief of staff and the head of the Mossad ‘to report that Israel had achieved all of the objectives of Operation Rising Lion, and much more. Israel has removed a dual immediate existential threat – both in the nuclear and ballistic missile fields,” the statement reads.
Iranian state television also reported that a truce was now in place.
