Explosion at Lukoil refinery in Romania injures one

On October 20 afternoon, an explosion without fire occurred at the Lukoil oil refinery in the Romanian city of Ploiești, Digi24 reports.

According to the Prahova County Emergency Inspection, the blast took place in a facility on Mihai Bravu Street. A 57-year-old man sustained a head and facial injury as well as trauma to his left lower limb.

He was conscious at the time and was treated and transported to Ploiești Emergency Department.

Authorities confirmed the facility, Petrotel Lukoil, specializes in oil production and distribution. At the time of the incident, the refinery was undergoing major maintenance work, which had started several days earlier.
