Israel's president says strike on Iran marks "achievement of important goals"
Israel has demonstrated its abilities and achieved important goals by striking Iran, said President of the Jewish state Isaac Herzog.
“Our demonstrated capabilities and achieved goals are very important for the security of the State of Israel and the protection of its citizens,” he wrote on his page in the social network X, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Herzog praised the Israeli Air Force personnel for their work and separately thanked the US for its assistance.
“Special thanks to our great friend, the US, for the genuine alliance and overt and covert cooperation,” the president said.
To recall, On October 26, Israel launched direct strikes against Iran, in a high-stakes retaliation to Tehran’s ballistic missile barrage earlier this month. Israel said it hit military targets, which did not include energy infrastructure, according to an Israeli military source.
Four members of Iran’s military were killed in the attack, according to state-run media, and Tehran said afterward that it is “entitled” to defend itself. But Iran appeared to downplay the strikes overall, reporting limited damage at military sites.
