Security fears force AZAL to cancel multiple flights through June 16
Azerbaijan's flag carrier, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), has announced the cancellation of several scheduled flights on June 14, 15, and 16, 2025, due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and the closure of regional airspace by several countries.
AZAL’s press office told Caliber.Az that the airline has suspended operations on the following routes:
June 14, 2025:

Baku – Tel Aviv – Baku (J2 331/332)

Baku – New Delhi – Baku (J2 057/058)
-
Baku – Islamabad – Baku (J2 143/144)
-
Baku – Riyadh – Baku (J2 8203/8204)
-
Baku – Tehran – Baku (J2 8017/8018)
June 15, 2025:
-
Two separate round-trip flights on the Baku – Tel Aviv – Baku route (J2 021/022 and J2 321/322)
June 16, 2025:
-
Two more round-trip flights between Baku and Tel Aviv (J2 021/022 and J2 321/322)
-
Baku – Tehran – Baku (J2 8017/8018)
Additionally, AZAL has suspended all flights on the Baku – Tabriz – Baku route through the end of June.
In a statement, the airline reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety and noted that it is continuously monitoring the evolving security situation in the region.
“AZAL, guided by the principle of ensuring flight safety, continues to monitor developments closely. Passengers will be promptly informed of all changes to the flight schedule,” the company said.
