US sends over 30 aerial tankers to Europe in major military move
The US has redeployed over 30 aerial refueling tankers from the continental US to multiple airbases across Europe.
European aviation observers confirmed that at least 32 tanker aircraft completed transatlantic flights to key bases, including Germany’s Ramstein Air Base—the headquarters of US Air Forces in Europe—as well as the Morón and Rota airbases in Spain, and air facilities in the United Kingdom and Italy, Caliber.Az reports via US military magazine.
The deployment featured KC-135T Stratotanker and KC-46A Pegasus aircraft, all relocated from US domestic bases to bolster aerial refueling capacity in Europe. Following their arrival, some of these tankers were dispatched onward to the Middle East, within the jurisdiction of US Central Command. There, American fighter squadrons depend on these tankers to provide mid-air refueling support, enabling extended-range missions in the region.
