Israel says it struck Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on January 2 it carried out airstrikes on multiple sites in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah military infrastructure.
According to an IDF statement, the strikes included a training facility used by Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, which the Israeli military said was used for drills involving weapons and combat exercises. The IDF also said it targeted buildings that had recently been used to store weapons, Caliber.Az reports.
The Israeli military stated that the activities at the sites violated ceasefire understandings between Israel and Lebanon and posed a security threat to Israel. It said it would continue operations aimed at addressing what it described as threats along its northern border.
