Israel targets Hezbollah facility in southern Lebanon, citing security threats, ceasefire violations
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed carrying out an airstrike on a facility in southern Lebanon allegedly operated by Hezbollah, claiming the site was used for manufacturing equipment to support the group's reconstruction efforts and to prepare for terrorist operations.
In a statement released via the IDF's official Telegram channel, the military asserted the targeted facility played a direct role in facilitating Hezbollah's broader operational capabilities, Caliber.Az reports.
“A short while ago, the Israel Defense Forces struck a facility used for the production of equipment intended to support Hezbollah’s reconstruction efforts and the preparation of terrorist attacks,” the IDF stated.
The military described the existence of such a site as a direct breach of longstanding agreements between Israel and Lebanon, particularly those established to prevent the escalation of hostilities along the tense northern border.
The IDF further underlined its resolve to act decisively against what it termed "threats to national security," suggesting that additional preemptive or retaliatory strikes may follow if Hezbollah’s military entrenchment continues.
