TankerTrackers: Iran exports millions of barrels of oil after US naval blockade
16 April 2026 23:37
Iran exported approximately 9 million barrels of crude oil from floating storage facilities in the Gulf of Oman after the US naval blockade came into force on April 13, according to analytics firm TankerTrackers.
According to the service, an additional 2 million barrels were shipped on April 12, shortly before the restrictions were introduced. It is noted that the movement of oil may have been linked to efforts to accelerate export deliveries amid heightened monitoring of maritime routes.
