Israeli ambassador thanks Azerbaijani people for support
Israeli ambassador George Deek has thanked the Azerbaijani people for support.
“We are pleased to receive messages of support from our brothers and sisters in Azerbaijan. I stopped counting how many emails, WhatsApp messages and calls we received from people representing all layers of society. It is truly touching to see people laying flowers at the embassy gates. On behalf of the Israeli people, I would like to thank the Azerbaijani people. You touched our hearts,” the ambassador told journalists, according to Report.
He also noted that October 7 will be remembered as the darkest day in Israeli history since the Holocaust.
“The war began unexpectedly when HAMAS terrorists fired rockets and invaded our cities in southern Israel to kill, rape and kidnap our women and men, our sons and our daughters. The number of victims of this aggression is staggering. More than 700 Israelis were killed, more than 100 were kidnapped and more than 2,000 were wounded,” the ambassador added.
Deek noted that hundreds of Israelis are waiting for the opportunity to donate blood.
“Hundreds of Israelis have volunteered to help the southern residents in a difficult period. People are returning from all over the world to join the army and fight for justice,” the ambassador said, calling on the international community to support Israel.
