Azerbaijan sets example of responsible approach to global challenges - Ukrainian envoy

Ukrainian Ambassador Yuriy Husyev has said that Azerbaijan demonstrates an example of a responsible approach to global challenges and peace-oriented diplomacy.

He made the remarks in an op-ed dedicated to the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace, Caliber.Az reports.

According to the ambassador, multilateralism is not only about global forums and diplomatic events, but also about the daily struggle to uphold the moral compass of the international community.

"We are deeply grateful to the Republic of Azerbaijan for its consistent support of our state, for its humanitarian initiatives, and for its respect for the norms and principles of international law," he wrote, adding that Azerbaijan is thereby setting an example of a responsible approach to global challenges and of diplomacy working towards peace.

Husyev says that diplomacy must prove its relevance not only through ceremonial meetings but also through practical decisions and steps followed by concrete actions.

In conclusion, the ambassador stressed that in times of global challenges, and amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, achieving a just and lasting peace for the future is the most important value and a shared goal for the entire international community.

"We know well that peace is not simply the silence after shelling. It is justice. It is the restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is accountability for crimes and guarantees that aggression will not be repeated," the Ukrainian ambassador added.
