Kazakh defence delegation visits Azerbaijan to boost military cooperation
A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan has paid an official visit to Azerbaijan as part of the bilateral cooperation plan between the two countries’ defence ministries.
The delegation began its visit at the Alley of Martyrs in Baku, where members paid tribute to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty by laying flowers in their honour, Caliber.Az reports via the Defence Ministry.
At the Ministry of Defence, Deputy Minister of Defence and Director General Agil Gurbanov held talks with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Defence for Digitalisation, Darkhan Akhmediyev, and the visiting delegation. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in military, military-technical, and military educational fields, along with other areas of mutual interest.
The Kazakh delegation also toured several departments of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence, including the Main Operational Department, the Main Department of Communications and Information Technologies, and the International Military Cooperation Department, where they received briefings on ongoing service activities and operational structures.
During their visit to the Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum under the National Defence University and the Main Department for Personnel, the guests were introduced to the Personnel Electronic Information System.
The delegation is scheduled to visit the Ministry’s Cybersecurity Center and a military unit to learn about Azerbaijan’s cybersecurity measures for modern weapons systems, advanced communication technologies, and AI-driven cyber defense capabilities.
Officials emphasised that the main goal of the visit is to exchange expertise on army development and explore avenues for closer collaboration between the Azerbaijani and Kazakh armed forces.
