Kazakhstan reports Anthrax outbreak

Anthrax (a serious infectious disease caused by gram-positive, rod-shaped bacteria known as Bacillus anthracis) outbreak has occurred in northern Kazakhstan.
“Some 12 people were hospitalised in the infectious diseases department of the Esil regional hospital. Around 22 people are under the supervision of medical workers. According to clinical tests and laboratory data, a diagnosis of anthrax was made,” Gazeta.ru reports.
Quarantine has been declared in Ushkarasu village of Akmola region, there were policemen at the entrance to the village.
