Pashinyan: Azerbaijan-Armenia border demarcation work underway
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on January 8 that certain work processes are currently underway and that the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border will continue at the appropriate time.
Pashinyan said that the actual implementation on the ground is necessary to launch communications and the TRIPP project, as at least some sections of the border need to be demarcated first, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
He added that active work is ongoing on the relevant documents and promised to provide updates as new information becomes available.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, with the mediation of US President Donald Trump, signed a Joint Declaration at a landmark summit in Washington on August 8, 2025. The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia initialled a17-article agreement, marking a milestone on the path toward a final peace deal.
A key element of the agreement is the initiative to create a strategic corridor called the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP), which will pass through Armenian territory and connect Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave.
