Kyrgyzstan opposes construction of Russian biological lab on its territory
Kyrgyzstan has opposed the construction of a Russian biological laboratory on its territory, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health said in a press release about the meeting of the intergovernmental commission posted on the ministry’s website.
“The sides exchanged views on the establishment of biosafety level 3 biological laboratory (BSL-3) in the Kyrgyz Republic,” the message said.“It is worth noting that Kyrgyz Republic stood against the implementation of this project.”
At the same time, the sides stressed the positive dynamics of the development of cooperation between the countries in the field of healthcare.
Representatives of Moscow and Bishkek will hold consultations on provision of medical care for non-working family members of migrant workers of two countries through compulsory health insurance.
Moreover, the sides are working on mutual recognition of vaccination certificates against COVID-19.
