Kyrgyzstan’s new flag hoisted at Ala-Too Square in Bishkek
Kyrgyz cabinet head Akylbek Japarov participated in the flag-raising ceremony at Ala-Too Square, the Cabinet's press service reports.
The event was attended by the Speaker of the Parliament Nurlanbek Shakiev, State Secretary Suinbek Kasmambetov, Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Ajikeev, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defense Ruslan Mukambetov, Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Junushaliev, and the authors of the flag Jusup Mataev and Bekbosun Jaichybekov, AKI Press reports.
Earlier, the parliament supported the Cabinet's bill aimed at improving the state flag, which was signed by the president on December 22, 2023.
The new state flag was raised on January 1 without a ceremony. However, the flag differed from the one approved by the Parliament. The Presidential Administration stated that the Cabinet made amendments and approved the design by the corresponding decree.
