Lebanese authorities threaten consequences if Hezbollah engages in Iran-Israel conflict

The Lebanese government has issued a strong warning to the Shiite militant group Hezbollah, holding the organization accountable should Lebanon become entangled in the escalating military conflict between Israel and Iran.

Beirut has made it explicitly clear that it will not tolerate Hezbollah’s involvement in any Iranian retaliatory actions following recent Israeli strikes, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

“The time when the organization bypassed the state in deciding to go to war is over,” the group was told.

The report adds that Lebanese authorities also warned Hezbollah that it would bear responsibility for dragging the country into war.
