Russian forces launch over 1,000 attacks on Zaporizhzhia, civilians hurt
Russian forces launched more than a thousand strikes on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours, wounding three people and causing widespread damage, regional officials said.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration noted that the attacks targeted the Zaporizhzhia district and surrounding areas, leaving three civilians injured.
In total, Russian troops carried out 1,019 strikes on 33 settlements across the region during the reporting period. The assaults included 15 airstrikes, 689 drone attacks of various types — predominantly FPV drones — seven strikes using multiple-launch rocket systems, and 308 artillery attacks.
Regional authorities also reported extensive destruction to civilian infrastructure. A total of 149 reports were received documenting damage to residential buildings, vehicles, and critical infrastructure facilities.
