Lebanon fires over hundred rockets at Israel

On the morning of September 22, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported the launch of 105 rockets from Lebanon.

According to a statement from the army's press service, sirens sounded in northern Israel between 06:24 and 06:32, and again from 06:52 to 07:00, with approximately 85 projectiles recorded entering Israeli territory, some of which were intercepted, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

Additionally, 20 more rockets were detected entering Israeli airspace over the Jezreel Valley. Debris and rocket fragments were reported falling in Kiryat Bialik, Tzur Shalom, and Moreshet, leading the Fire Department to respond to fires in those areas.

The day before, the Israeli Air Force targeted around 400 rocket launchers belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari informed reporters, “In total, today we hit about 400 Hezbollah launchers, including thousands of rocket launcher containers.”

Hagari noted that Hezbollah militias are preparing to attack Israel, prompting continued strikes on their infrastructure. “Over the past hour, we have been intensively striking southern Lebanon after detecting Hezbollah's preparations to shell Israeli territory. Dozens of Israeli Air Force planes are currently attacking terrorist targets and rocket launchers to eliminate the threat to Israeli citizens,” he stated.

During the briefing, Hagari also announced a special state of emergency in northern Israel due to the shelling threat from Lebanon. The emergency measures apply to all areas north of Haifa, including restrictions on outdoor gatherings of more than 30 people and indoor gatherings exceeding 300. Work and education may only proceed in locations equipped with shelters.
