Envoy: Rwanda values Azerbaijan’s foreign policy experience
Rwanda holds Azerbaijan’s diplomatic experience and commitment to peaceful foreign policy in high regard, according to Rwanda’s non-resident ambassador to Azerbaijan, Charles Kayonga.
Following his recent visit to Baku, Ambassador Kayonga — who is based in Ankara — described his meetings in the Azerbaijani capital as “productive” and highlighted the growing cooperation between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“As one of the ambassadors accredited to your country, I was also honoured to be invited to mark the 106th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s diplomatic service. That legacy is quite significant,” he said.
“Rwanda greatly values Azerbaijan’s experience in diplomacy and its peaceful foreign policy. During our time in Baku, we discussed expanding cooperation with relevant institutions.”
On July 9, Azerbaijan hosted an official reception and concert programme in Baku to mark the professional day of its diplomatic service.
The event brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), and high-ranking figures from various state bodies.
Azerbaijan’s diplomatic service, founded in 1919 during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic era, continues to play a key role in the country’s foreign policy and international engagement.
