Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss expanding judicial cooperation

Azerbaijan and Pakistan have discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, including joint initiatives and the exchange of experience in the justice sector as part of a meeting between Farid Ahmadov, Azerbaijan's Justice Minister and his Pakistani counterpart Aqeel Malik.

The two sides focused on the implementation of several joint initiatives under the memorandum and cooperation programme between the two countries' justice authorities, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

They noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have reached the level of a strategic partnership, with high-level visits and regular contacts continuing to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Officials also underscored the importance of an upcoming training programme in Baku, which is expected to broaden the exchange of expertise and strengthen professional ties.

The Azerbaijani side thanked Pakistan for hosting a training programme in Islamabad in May and said another training session is planned there in October.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.

Malik is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in a training programme in Baku for judges and employees of the country's justice and judicial institutions.
